The dark streaks running down New England roofs are a hardy algae, and the fuzzy green patches are moss and lichen. Left alone they hold moisture against the shingles and shorten the life of the roof.
High pressure would tear up your shingles, so we never use it on a roof. We soft wash: a low-pressure application that kills the algae, moss, and lichen and lets them rinse and weather away, protecting the roof instead of damaging it.
